Afternoon Pickup
You’re picked up from your hotel in Watamu or Malindi and driven to the edge of Mida Creek.
As you arrive, the mood shifts quieter, softer, slower.
Boarding the Dhow
You step aboard a traditional dhow, cushioned and prepared for comfort. The crew welcomes you and the sail is raised as the boat drifts into the creek.
No engines. Just wind, water, and time.
Sailing Through the Mangroves
The dhow moves gently through mangrove channels, a vital ecosystem that supports marine life and protects the coastline.
Your guide shares light insights about the creek, the tides, and local coastal life — nothing overwhelming, just enough to add depth.
Sunset Moment
As the sun begins to set, the dhow pauses in open water.
The sky turns gold, then orange, then soft pink. Reflections ripple across the creek as snacks and drinks are served on board.
This is the moment most guests remember.
Return to Shore
As dusk settles, the dhow returns to shore and you’re transferred back to your hotel — relaxed, present, and unhurried.
Practical Notes
-Light jacket recommended for evening breeze
-Flat shoes or sandals work best
-Sunset times vary by season
-Experience depends on tides (we plan around this)
