Your safari begins early in Nairobi, heading west as the landscape slowly opens into the rolling plains of the Masai Mara.
You arrive inside the reserve in time for your first extended game drive, following wildlife trails until midday before reaching camp.
The afternoon is intentionally slow — lunch, rest, and time to settle in. Later, as the light softens, you head back out for an evening game drive when predators become active and the plains glow gold.
Today is about depth, not distance.
With a packed lunch, you spend the entire day moving through different sections of the reserve — tracking herds, waiting patiently near river crossings (seasonal), and stopping under acacia or fig trees for lunch in the wild.
There’s no rush back. You return to camp at sunset, dusty, satisfied, and full of stories.
After breakfast, you leave the Mara and travel toward the Rift Valley floor, arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park by midday.
This compact park offers a completely different feel — wooded areas, open lake shores, and excellent chances to spot black and white rhinos.
An afternoon game drive explores the lake edge and forested sections before returning to the lodge for a relaxed evening.
You head south toward Amboseli, where the landscape flattens and Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the horizon.
After lunch and rest at camp, the afternoon game drive focuses on Amboseli’s famous elephant families, often seen moving slowly across open swamps with Kilimanjaro as their backdrop.
In the evening, enjoy cultural storytelling and a traditional performance hosted by members of the Maasai community.
The route shifts again as you travel toward the privately managed Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
This area feels more intimate — greener, quieter, and less crowded. A slow-paced afternoon game drive allows for relaxed wildlife viewing and photography.
Sunset here is often dramatic, with hills rolling into shadow as animals gather near water.
Tsavo East opens up in scale and space. Known for its red earth, wide plains, and big skies, this is one of Kenya’s most untamed parks.
Game drives follow the Galana River and waterholes where elephants, buffalo, and predators gather.
The afternoon is unhurried — a final deep dive into classic East African wilderness.
After an early breakfast, you exit Tsavo East and continue toward Watamu or Mombasa, depending on your onward plans.
Along the way, there’s an optional stop in local villages — a simple, respectful chance to connect, share, and see daily life beyond the parks.
Your safari ends not abruptly, but gently — transitioning from wilderness to ocean or home.
